Lindsey Wagner from The Derryfield School is NH1’s September Student Athlete of the Month
LINDSEY WAGNER – THE DERRYFIELD SCHOOL – SWIMMING
Nominated By: Lenny McCaigue, Athletic Director
Lindsey won two individual State Championships and was part of The Derryfield 4 x 200 Medley Relay Team which finished second. Lindsey’s State Championships were in the 50 Freestyle (25.26) and the 100 Backstroke (54.60). In winning the 100 Backstroke, Lindsey set a new NH and UNH pool record. Both swim times will qualify Lindsey for All-American, an achievement she obtained last year for her 100 Backstroke win in the 2017 championships.
Not only is Lindsey a team captain for swimming, she was also the 2017-2018 Junior Class co-President. She was a member of the all-school student council and participated in the “Poetry Out Loud” competition. Lindsey’s 4.0 GPA has confirmed her place on the Highest Honor Roll for every term since the beginning of freshman year. She is a stellar student, intellectually curious and passionate about learning. As well as her commitment to high school swimming, Lindsey is also on a club swim team requiring her time management skills to be top notch. She has clearly succeeded in balancing her athletic, community service and academics as reflected in her ability to maintain a perfect GPA. Congratulations Lindsey!
