Welcome back once again to Nick’s Mix! My goal with this series is to teach you how to make a variety of mixed drinks in your own home using simple recipes.
Each month there are four drinks based on a particular spirit. The first month was
vodka drinks, the second was tequila and this month we are talking white rum.
This week’s drink is a daiquiri. Not a frozen one or a strawberry one but the original!
This is the way they were made in your great-grandfather’s time!
1.5 oz. White Rum (Bacardi or the like)
The juice of 1/2 Lime (squeezed fresh)
1 tsp. Powdered Sugar
Fill a cocktail shaker half full of ice.
Pour in your rum, your lime juice, and then drop in the powdered sugar.
Strain the contents into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
Simple and delicious!
