It’s fair to say that last year’s Community Action Plan of Strafford County’s video to promote their annual Lip Sync contest was the definition of a viral sensation. Over five million viewers watched CEO Betsey Andrews Parker dance up and down Dover’s Central Avenue.
This year Betsey and I teamed up for our own take on James Corden’s popular “Carpool Karaoke” to help promote the upcoming show on November 16th. Tickets are on sale now for the show that will feature over 20 acts lip sync and perform to songs as they battle it out for first place.
The goal of this contest is to raise money for CAP, which is a huge feat considering they annually need to raise close to $1 million on top of grants they receive in order to fund the many services they provide to Strafford County residents, such as its food pantry, Headstart program, heating oil assistance, job training, and senior transportation.
If you’d like to put together a group and have a little fun at the expense of a few laughs, there’s room for a few more acts to join in on the fun.
If getting up in front of 1,000 people inside the Dover High School auditorium is not your thing, you can still help support CAP by purchasing a ticket for only $6 or $20 for a four pack.
