Most 13-year-old boys are thinking about things like Snapchat videos, downloading music or playing sports. Not William Preston; he lives with his mom in Fenley Nevada just outside of Reno.
Krystal, William’s mom, is a single mom with three kids and three dogs and was going through a rough patch in life. Trying to raise her children and make ends meet was tough. Add to it no means of transportation, and it was even tougher.
William, her oldest, helped with odd jobs in his community to bring in some extra cash. But it was a series of events that gave William the best idea ever!
He saw a video on YouTube where people were buying their mom a car and surprising them. Then he saw a car for sale while he was on Facebook Marketplace. The car wasn’t that expensive, and his idea was born!
After some negotiating and trade worked out with the car owner, William got his mom a new car.
“What 13-year-old do you know buys their mom a car” asked Krystal, “there are no words that can express my gratitude and how proud I am.”
