Suddenly, I am realizing that I am using most every one of my kitchen utensils/appliances/gadgets wrong.
A couple of months ago, we saw a video that claimed we’ve all been using can openers wrong our whole life.
Apparently NOW, we are using cheese graters wrong.
This one here is a little different though because it’s a specific type of cheese grater that is called a “box grater.” Instead of being shaped like a teepee, with four sides of different sized graters, this one has six sides.
What makes this type of grater easier is that if you lay it down on its side and grate the cheese from side to side, rather than up and down, it’s easier on your wrist and you’re able to grate faster with a lesser chance of losing a chunk of skin.
The shredded cheese remains inside the grater, making it easier to dump into a pot, pan, bowl or mouth.
A woman in the UK tweeted a video of the process, and as of Wednesday morning, it’s received close to three million views.
Ok, I was today years old when I found out THIS is how a cheese grater is used !? I feel a fool pic.twitter.com/OwE0Cvm8ZO

I’m sure you can use a regular teepee type cheese grater the same way. Worth a try, anyway.
