Earlier today the Manchester Monarchs announced they have played their last season of professional hockey. SMG, manager of the SNHU Arena, and the Mayor’s Office are committed to the continued success of the Arena.
“We are still processing the news we recently were made aware of via the team’s website. As the Arena’s Management Team [SMG], we are confident in the continued success of SNHU Arena as we navigate into this next era. The Arena has consistently ranked within the Top 10 of venues our size. We have a strong event year ahead, with more opportunity now for additional concerts, trade shows, family shows and other sporting events,” said Tim Bechert, Senior General Manager. “We will begin to research a new professional team to call New Hampshire home.”
SNHU Arena has a rich history of success in Manchester since it’s inception in 2001. Just recently the Arena was ranked 3rd in the U.S. for venues fewer than 15,000 seats based on worldwide ticket sales.* They also ranked the Arena 29th in the U.S. and 52nd in the world for arenas of all sizes. The Arena continues to make a name for itself with a top 2 placement in New England.
SNHU hosted SIX sellout shows in the first quarter ranking. These top touring acts included Dave Matthews Band, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Chris Young, Panic! At The Disco, and Kane Brown. 2019 is off to a strong start in Manchester with more great shows already announced including Josh Groban, Cirque du Soleil Crystal, Eric Church and the Boston Pops.
