A Seacoast tradition continues this weekend with the annual Lighting of the Nubble Lighthouse at Sohier Park in York, Maine this Saturday. The holiday celebration starts at 5pm and concludes just after the lights turn on at 6pm.
The lighting of the Nubble will show off a new look with just complete renovations of the lighthouse keeper’s house and light tower. In addition, new LED lights will outline all of the buildings.
Keep in mind, that for the first time, the entire Nubble area will be closed off to vehicles for the annual lighting ceremony. Shuttles will be available to Sohier Park from the York High School and Short Sands parking lot starting at 3:30pm.
If you cannot attend the official holiday lighting of this iconic lighthouse on Saturday, the lights will be on every night from 3:30pm to midnight through New Year’s Eve.
