Looks like the future is here. The engineers at Hyundai have come up with a car that not only drives on four wheels, but in a sticky situation can also start walking over all kinds of rough terrain.
It’s called Project Elevate, and was the talk of a recent consumer electronics show, where it was shown in an animated video.
The people at Hyundai say it was designed to “help first responders in cases like the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster.” And they say “it could help in more everyday situations, like carrying people in weelchairs when there aren’t ramps around.”
We here in New England could certainly use these in a nor’easter. Just climb in the car and walk to work.
