The British Bloodhound SSC project went bankrupt back in October, but now, entrepreneur Ian Warhurst has stepped in and saved the day.
The people working on the project have been trying to build a car that will go 1000 mph, which would break all land speed records. The old record was 763 mph.
The car, which looks more like a spacecraft than a car, will attempt a run at a dry lake bed in South Africa coming up in 2019. They have been working on the project for more than 10 years.
Warhurst said that the project is “a matter of pride,” and is, “ready to do what it takes.” Gentlemen, start your uh…rockets.
