Columbus Day-While I hope most of you have this long weekend off to enjoy, some won’t. And that’s ok. I really don’t understand how a guy who didn’t discover anything, and did horrible things to people gets a national holiday. Baffling. I just don’t get it.
2018 MLB Postseason-It’s finally here! The rainy, cold spring, the dog days of summer and now the contenders play for the Commissioner’s Trophy. The Wild Card games are over, and the League Division Series is underway. Do the 108-win Boston Red Sox win the World Series for the first time in five years? Can the defending champ Houston Astros get back to the Fall Classic? Do the Cleveland Indians reverse the 70-year ‘Curse of Rocky Colavito’? Does a surprise team win it all, like the Milwaukee Brewers or Colorado Rockies? The pressure is on!
Fall Foliage-There’s a great chance that the state of New Hampshire is going to have a record number of people from other states coming in this holiday weekend. What will they be doing? Leaf peeping, of course! The upper parts of the state seem to have the foliage at the moment, but all of the state by Halloween should be all kinds of colors with leaves on the ground. Don’t forget the amount apple and pumpkin picking also!
Pink-October was once a month that people would wear opal, which is the birthstone of the tenth month of the year. Not anymore! Pink is the preferred choice, due to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We all know somebody who’s had this horrible disease, and some who have unfortunately passed away from it. Since I was asked to rep pink for the American Cancer Society’s ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ campaign, it’s been an overwhelming positive response. Thanks so much!
