WWII boxcar may soon be on display in NH State Veterans Cemetery
MANCHESTER — A famous artifact from World War II had been left to rot in obscurity in Manchester until a recent plan was announced to try to bring it to light, according to a story by the Union Leader.
The "Merci Train" is a boxcar that was given to America by the French people to show gratitude for America's role in WWII.
The boxcar had been sitting untouched in a Manchester dead end, but the Forty & Eight organization is trying to move the boxcar to New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery for more exposure.
The veterans cemetery has also been working on an exhibit to show off NH's military history through various media and displays.
