Caught Red Faced: Meatball Thief Took Pot of Tasty Morsels from Garage, Police Say
Imagine being called to a burglary of meatballs.
Yes, we are talking meatball theft! That is exactly what officers responded to in Hazel Township, Pennsylvania, on Monday.
Police said the victim reported that a pot of meatballs was stolen from inside of his garage, and when he came home, he found the culprit standing outside of his residence.
The pot, which initially housed the meatballs, was found empty on the street outside of the home from which they were allegedly stolen. Troopers stated that he had red sauce on his face and clothing.
Police charged the accused thief 48-year-old Leahman Glenn Robert Potter, who also had an active warrant for failure to appear, with burglary, criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking.
It's unclear if Potter washed the sauce off before he was arrested a short time later.
Potter's attorney did not immediately respond to a voicemail seeking comment.
