WATCH: Man punches 18-year-old NH woman 39 times; police searching for suspect
ROCHESTER — Police are searching for a man who punched an 18-year-old woman in the head 39 times after she left a Rochester gym.
Officers responded to Planet Fitness at 306 N. Main St. for a reported assault on June 12 around 10 p.m.
The victim reported that while walking out to her car, a man assaulted her from behind. He punched her about 39 times, threw her to the ground and then kneed her in the head, surveillance video obtained by police June 19 showed. The suspect got in his car and drove away before officers arrived, police said.
The victim did not sustain major injuries. Frisbie EMS was called to the scene; however, the victim chose to have a friend drive her to the hospital for treatment.
Police released a portion of the video only showing the first punch for the sake of the victim's privacy.
The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a white T-shirt, shorts, white sneakers, baseball hat and sunglasses. Police believe he fled in a light-colored Ford Fusion or similar vehicle.
