Timberland joins Girls at Work, Inc. in Manchester to build self-esteem - and beds
A small non-profit with a larger-than-life mission got some help Wednesday from New Hampshire-based Timberland.
The company said it thrives on giving back, and on Wednesday, employees arrived in Manchester to wrap up a community project with Girls at Work, Inc.
They helped prepare and build dozens of raised beds for a community garden.
The program aims to get young at-risk girls to tap into their inner power.
The program gives the girls - some as young as 6 - the opportunity to work in a setting that fosters teamwork, independence and self-esteem.
