Think twice before covering Ed Sheeran songs on Facebook - your account could get deleted
A London musician felt betrayed by Facebook after they suspended her account due to an Ed Sheeran cover video she posted.
"I just felt completely hopeless by it and betrayed by Facebook," Charlotte Campbell said in a YouTube video.
Campbell, who has over 13,000 followers on her page, said Facebook suspended her account for three days after posting a 15-second cover of Sheeran's song "Castle On The Hill."
Facebook decided to block Campbell due to a copyright infringement of the song since they do not have licenses with music companies.
Sheeran wrote to Campbell letting her know the ban "definitely has nothing to do with me."
Facebook allegedly warned Campbell that if she posts another cover video, they will delete her account.
The social media site told USA Today that they are working with the music industry to resolve these types of situations.
