Roads closed after stolen car chase in Manchester leads to crash; 2 arrested
MANCHESTER - Several police departments assisted with the arrests of two people suspected of stealing a Honda Accord and leading the Merrimack and Bedford police on a car chase.
According to the Manchester Police Department's Twitter account, a car stop was initiated by the Bedford Police to stop the vehicle. Both the driver and the passenger of the car were arrested and taken to an area hospital.
A witness at the scene said that during the pursuit, the driver of the stolen Accord crashed into a Ford truck on 2nd Street near the Applebee's.
Crews were working to remove the driver from the truck.
Manchester police were assisting with the aftermath from the crash.
The police are advising the public to avoid the area of 2nd Street and Queen City Avenue for the next few hours as crews clean up the site.
2nd Street from Queen City Avenue to Harvell Street will be closed for the next 2-3 hours, and Exit 4 off Interstate 293 North Bound is also closed due to this incident.
The road will reopen once the scene is clear.
