Republican presidential hopefuls head to NH this week
CONCORD (AP) - More than a dozen Republican presidential hopefuls will descend on New Hampshire this week to woo activists whose support they'll need in the nation's first presidential primary.
The state Republican Party is hosting a summit for presidential hopefuls on Friday and Saturday, and several possible candidates are showing up days earlier for their own events. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, for example, will host two town hall meetings and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is speaking at "Politics & Eggs" on Friday morning.
The visits come just days after Hillary Rodham Clinton's launched her campaign to secure the Democratic nomination. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who will attend the summit, is expected to announce his candidacy Monday.
The New Hampshire primary is scheduled for February 9.
