Don't Be a Chicken! These Dance Moves Are Meant to Celebrate
It's a staple at weddings and other celebratory events. Almost everyone knows the moves to the iconic chicken dance.
May 14 is National Dance Like a Chicken Day.
The dance has had several poultry reincarnations and is frequently linked to polka music.
Werner Thomas, a Swiss accordionist, wrote the song in the 1950s but it didn't come states side until the 1970s.
In honor of dancing like a chicken, here are a few of the best chicken dances around.
Jimmy NeUtron Chicken Dance
From jokes about how bad their parents dance to the full-arm, unbended-elbow claps, the dance gets a whole new spin. Also, we think everyone can relate when the kids openly make fun of their parents but don't want anyone else to mess with them.
It's not a chicken but it's close enough. In this classic scene from "Friends," Monica wants to apologize to Chandler after the entire gang talks about some of their worst Thanksgivings. It isn't a chicken and it's not the chicken dance, but this moment where she puts a turkey on her head and starts shimmying ends with one of the show's most memorable moments.
Another non-traditional version. The Duke of Weselton's unique moves had the kids and adults, clucking in approval.
Of course the duke's moves are a reference to "Arrested Development." The moves by the Bluth family are used to mock others.
There's not much we can say about this one so how about you do the same. Send this to a friend and don't say anything at all.
