Police seize firearms, ammunition after Laconia man allegedly fires rifle
LACONIA — A Laconia man accused of firing a rifle has been arrested.
The Laconia Police Department responded to 55 Gilford Ave. after receiving a report that a man threatened someone with a gun Sunday at 10:59 p.m.
As officer's responded, police received a report that a single gunshot was heard in the same area.
Police determined through an investigation that Gregory Marcoot, 36, of 53 Gilford Ave., was the person involved. Officers contacted Marcoot by telephone and directed him to come out of his house and he complied.
Police seized a rifle, which they believed Marcoot fired, along with several firearms and ammunition from Marcoot's residence.
Marcoot faces charges of criminal threatening and reckless conduct for this incident along with an additional charge of criminal threatening in connection to an earlier incident on the same day. All charges are class B felonies.
