Police: NH woman being arrested asks officer to get cigarette out of purse containing drugs
MANCHESTER — A woman accidentally added more charges to her rap sheet during an arrest, police said.
About 4:45 p.m. Saturday, a Manchester Police sergeant identified a woman with an outstanding warrant at the Dunkin' Donuts on Eddy Road.
Jessica Caron, 33, was placed into custody without incident after being approached, police said.
While she was in custody, she asked the officer if he could get her purse out of her car so she could smoke a cigarette. When the officer searched her purse for the cigarettes, he found a small plastic bag with heroin inside, police said.
Subsequently, Caron also was charged with possession of a controlled drug on top of her charge for violation of bail conditions for a disorderly conduct arrest from Feb. 6. Caron was arraigned Monday in Manchester district court. She is next scheduled to appear in court March 8 at 8:30 a.m.
