Police: NH man charged with drunken driving after car lands on top of another vehicle
MANCHESTER — A man who led officers on a chase before crashing and flipping his car has been arrested, police said.
Around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, an officer saw a 2009 Hyundai Sonata driving erratically in the area of Depot and Auburn streets. He tried to pull the car over but the driver headed west bound on Granite Street, then continued to accelerate toward South Main and Milford streets, police said.
The driver lost control of the car, hit a curb and stone in front of Phil and Son Auto on Milford Street. The car then flipped over the stone and landed on top of another car. Officers had to break a window to remove the driver from the car.
He was identified as Joseph Reynolds, 35, of Manchester. Reynolds was taken to Catholic Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being placed into police custody.
Reynolds has been charged with reckless conduct, aggravated operating under the influence of liquor and disobeying a police officer. He was scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on Monday.
The owner of the 2003 Buick that Reynold's car landed on top of has been notified as both vehicles sustained heavy damage, police said.
