Police: NH man arrested for using 'teen runaway' ads to lure minor girls to have sex
LEBANON — Undercover Lebanon police officers arrested a New Hampshire man for allegedly using Craigslist to solicit a minor for sex.
Dominick F. Tarallo, 53, of Laconia, was arrested and charged with two counts of certain uses of computer service prohibited. The first count is a class B felony alleging that he used an online service to solicit a minor child for sex. The second count is a class A felony because Tarallo was previously convicted in Chittenden County, Vt., for a similar offense in 2016.
The Lebanon Police Department saw two "nearly identical" ads listed in Laconia and the Lakes Region area for a "teen runaway" to respond with a picture to "chat" and "maybe meet," police said.
Lebanon police officers sent a message to one of the ads, worried that it was targeting vulnerable underage females. Officers posed as a 15-year-old girl from Lebanon who was seeking to run away.
Tarallo responded and the conversation quickly became sexual, with Tarallo indicating he wanted to come to Lebanon to pick up the 15-year-old female at a shopping plaza and bring her back to his residence to stay overnight, police said. Tarallo then indicated that he wanted to have sex with the girl in his car and later in his bed, police said.
On Thursday, an undercover officer met with Tarallo and arrested him.
Tarallo was booked at the Lebanon Police Department where he refused bail. He was arraigned Friday and is being held on $75,000 cash bail at the Grafton County House of Corrections.
Tarallo also faces a potential violation of his probation charge.
In 2015, the Lebanon Police Department assisted Homeland Security and New Hampshire’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in investigating Tarallo until he was arrested in South Burlington, Vt., for soliciting an the undercover officer he believed was a minor child.
Tarallo was sentenced to jail time for that conviction and was placed on probation. He has to register as sex offender as a result.
