Police looking for more students contacted by Nashua teacher charged with sending nude pics
NASHUA — City police say there could be additional victims in the case of Bruce Lanctot, a local teacher on paid leave for allegedly sending nude photographs of himself to students.
The Union-Leader reported police want students who may have communicated with Lanctot on social media to come forward. Police said Bruce Lanctot, 40, of 25 Stark St., Apt. 1, used the social media app Grindr to contact several students, engage in sexually explicit conversations, ask them to meet and engage in sexual conduct and solicit at least one student to send him nude photos.
Authorities said Lanctot informed the victims that he was a teacher at the school, and that Lanctot knew he was communicating with juvenile students. Police have not stated how many students received nude photographs from Lanctot, but did explain that “several” nude pictures were sent to “a few victims.” The gender of the recipients was not identified.
Grindr is a location-based gay dating app with more than 2 million users daily. It is designed to help gay and bisexual men meet, and has a reputation for lewd content.
Aside from Lanctot’s teaching position, he also serves as the co-advisor of the Gay Straight Alliance Club at Nashua High School South.
Lanctot is currently free on $20,000 cash or surety bail. He will be arraigned June 15 at the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
