Police: Drunk driver crashes into pole causing power outages in NH city for nearly 7 hours
DOVER — A drunk driver crashed into a utility pole causing power outages in Dover for nearly seven hours, police said.
Aaron Tilton, 24, of Dover, went off the paved portion of the roadway and severed the utility pole while driving south on Back Road, police said.
Wentworth-Douglass Hospital treated Tilton for non-life-threatening injuries. Upon being discharged from the hospital, police arrested Tilton for DWI - subsequent offense - a class A misdemeanor. He was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail pending a court date March 27.
Crews from Eversource responded to the scene and restored power after roughly seven hours.
