Police arrest woman driving wrong-way on Route 101
State Police charged a Litchfield woman with drunken driving after they said she hit another vehicle before crashing on Route 101.
Police said Carrie Tremblay was traveling the wrong-way starting near Exit 11 around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Honda CRV Tremblay was driving hit another vehicle near Exit 8 before almost hitting a police cruiser and then crashing into a jersey barrier, police said.
Tremblay was later charged with DUI, reckless conduct (felony), reckless operation, vehicular assault, conduct after an accident and one-way driving.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Exeter Hospital for medical care. The roadway was closed for about an hour.
Brentwood Police and Fire departments also assisted at the scene.
