Plans for new brewery, beer garden brewing in Keene
KEENE — Pumpkin ale is coming to Keene.
Two local men are teaming up with a Massachusetts brewery to open their own operation in a portion of a former Keene beverage distributorship on Winchester Street.
The Keene Sentinel reported that Jay and Richard Clarke have teamed up with Wormtown Brewery in Worcester to open a brewery and brew pub in 10,000 square feet of space in early 2018.
The former Clarke distributorship, along with White Mountain Distributors, were sold to Bellavance Beverages of Nashua in a deal that was announced in January. Clarke still owns the Winchester Street property.
The two say they want to use local ingredients to create unique brews.
David Fields of Wormtown Brewery told the Sentinel, "I would be shocked if we do not release the Keene pumpkin fest pumpkin ale next fall."
