Optimism is good for your heart health
The saying goes, "All the world loves an optimist." Turns out, so does your heart.
New research from the University of Illinois links an optimistic outlook with cardiovascular health.
Researchers looked at the mental and physical health, and the optimism levels of more than 5,000 adults from 45 to 84 years old.
They found those with the highest levels of optimism are twice as likely of being in ideal cardiovascular health, compared to pessimists.
Optimists where also more physically active, had better blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol, and had a better body mass index.
