NH state police report 21 DUIs, no fatal crashes during holiday weekend travel
State police announce that there were no fatal motor accidents, but 21 DUI arrests were made over Thanksgiving weekend.
Officers were visible on the roadways monitoring holiday travel as part of the Combined Accident Reduction Effort, or C.A.R.E Life Saver Weekend beginning Wednesday, Nov. 23 and going through Sunday, Nov. 27.
A total 3,087 vehicles were stopped. This broke down to: 755 speeding citations, 2,047 warnings, and 41 citations for Driving after Suspension. There were also 114 other criminal arrests made in that time period.
Several of the drunk driving stops were made after citizen phone calls, a fact for which the state police were grateful.
