Woman Shot by Bullet While Riding Her Bike Through State Park
HOPKINTON — A woman riding her mountain bike on Hall Road was hospitalized after being shot while passing through a heavily wooded area near Elm Brook Park.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said the 27-year-old was on the access road around 4:20 p.m. when she heard a gunshot and realized she had been struck by a bullet.
The woman was brought to Concord Hospital where she was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
Fish and Game officers as well as the Hopkinton police are investigating the incident. Officials believe a 34-year-old hunter from Hopkinton was shooting at a deer and did not see the victim on the mountain bike.
No charges have been filed against the hunter, but that could change depending on the result of the investigation.
