Want gas for less than $2 in NH? Try this one trick
Humans share many common experiences in this world that help bond us together. One of the most universal feelings in the world is that dread you feel as you pull up to a gas pump with your car running on empty.
Today's world barely a few years removed from when gas prices were hovering near $4 dollars a gallon, and people shut off the engine when coasting down hills just to conserve a little gas. It seemed like every trip to the pump cost an arm and a leg as you got closer to just killing the car's engine for good.
But times have changed, and New Hampshire residents can see a light at the end of the tunnel (which might be the check engine light on the dashboard, but who actually checks the engine anyways?).
According to GasBuddy, certain gas stations in New Hampshire have dropped prices below $2! Two gas stations in Manchester, Budget Gas and Maverick, broke through the $2 floor this week.
I know. I know. I will wait for the wild applause and high-fiving to finish before I explain the catch ... because, of course, there's a catch.
Done cheering? Fantastic. So now for the important question, how does one actually take advantage of these extremely low gas prices?
Four out of the top five cheapest gas pumps in New Hampshire require customers to pay up with cold, hard cash.
So if you're like me and normally hop out of the car with a credit card ready to scan, put that plastic away and be prepared to walk in to hand over those dollar bills.
