Help Battle Cancer While Watching Jaw Dropping Stunts at NH Fundraiser
MANCHESTER — A two-time cancer survivor and CHaD ambassador will co-host the Warren Miller Fundraiser on Sunday, hoping to bring in as many people as possible for a great cause.
Avery Forestall, 16, said this fundraiser is all about “being positive and showing the bright side of everything.”
The Warren Miller fundraiser is a film festival organized by the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock (CHaD) aiming to raise valuable funds for CHaD kids.
Forestall was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) when he was 5 years old. He fought until he was 6, putting him into a 1½ year remission. He was diagnosed again just before his 10th birthday though, and fought again until he was 12. Forestall has now been in remission for four years.
Forestall has been participating in the Warren Miller fundraiser for a decade now, and he said it’s all because of the support he received during his own journey.
“My promise was that because of everything that everyone has given back to me, I want to give that same kind of positivity back into the world,” Forestall said Tuesday in an interview with Nazzy and Tara on "The Morning Wake Up" on 98.3 LNH. “I want to be someone that people can look up to and be motivated by.”
The fundraiser will directly benefit CHaD and Kristen’s Gift, the pediatric oncology fund for CHaD. Forestall was very involved with these two throughout his cancer treatment.
Forestall will be co-hosting the event Sunday at the Palace Theater in Manchester. The doors open at 1 p.m., and the event goes from 2-5 p.m.
This year's Warren Miller Film, "Line of Descent," takes the audience around the world for jaw-dropping stunts in the most beautiful winter locations, including Jackson Hole and Steamboat, Norway and the French Alps.
Guests will receive a goodie bag chock full of ski passes and gifts from attractions across the state. A silent auction and door prizes will also be feature at the event.
Tickets will be available exclusively through the Palace Theatre box office, by calling 603-668-5588, and at their website here.
