Shake, Rattle and Snow: Earthquake Hits NH Ahead of Nor'easter
A small earthquake shook Hopkinton and some surrounding towns Wednesday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 2.4 earthquake hit almost 2 miles northeast of Contoocook at 5:07 a.m.
It's the latest of several earthquakes that have struck New Hampshire in the past month.
98.3 LNH's "Morning Wake Up" host Nazzy posted to his Facebook page asking if people in the area felt it.
Responses varied with one woman in Warner saying she felt nothing. Others in Warner said they did feel it, and people in Belmont and Deering, which are about a half hour away from Hopkinton, also felt it.
One local business decided to add some humor to its followers' day by posting a popular meme.
The small temblor hit as the region is prepping for a large nor'easter that could dump as much as 18 inches of snow in parts of New Hampshire.
