NH Trooper Investigating Crash Rear Ended By Driver on Interstate
HOPKINTON — A driver hit the cruiser of a New Hampshire State Police trooper who was investigating a crash on Interstate 89.
trooper, Malilay was investigating a motor-vehicle accident on I-89 northbound in Hopkinton near Exit 5 when he was struck from behind by another motorist.
Mohamed Kamara, 38, of Concord, hit Trooper Irwin Malilay's cruiser from behind around 6:15 a.m. near Exit 5, police said.
Malilay was on a straightaway at the time of the crash and had his emergency blue lights on as well as several flares deployed. Paramedics from Hopkinton fire and rescue evaluated Malilay and Kamara at the scene and no injuries were reported.
Police issued a summons to Kamara for failing to move over for roadside emergency as required by law.
