Fisher Cats Hire Youngest Manager Ever
MANCHESTER - The Fisher Cats have announced their new team manager.
John Schneider will be the new manager for the baseball team. Schneider, 37, is the youngest manager the team has ever had.
He was also the team's former catcher from 2006-07.
Schneider enters the management position with nine years of managerial experience within Toronto's farm system and a championship pedigree to New Hampshire. His managing roster includes the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays (2009-10, 2012-13), the Short-Season A Vancouver Canadians (2011, 2014-15), the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts (2016) and the Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays (2017).
In addition to Schneider, Hunter Mense will join the team as the hitting coach, Drew MacDonald will be the new athletic trainer in nearly a decade, and Ryan Maedel will be the strength and conditioning coach. Vince Horsman will return as the pitching coach and Andy Fermin will return as the position player coach.
The Fisher Cats home opener is on Friday, April 13, at 6:35 p.m. against the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado Rockies affiliate).
