East Wakefield Woman Charged After New Year's Eve DWI Crash Killed Passenger
MILTON - A East Wakefield woman is facing felony aggravated DWI charges after crashing her car on New Year's Eve, killing her passenger.
Milton police responded to a reported single-car crash on Route 125 near the exit 18 overpass just before 10 p.m. Sunday night. State police as well as fire and rescue personnel assisted due to the seriousness of the accident.
Officers found that a Mitsubishi Endeavor had crash approximately 50 feet from the northbound side of the roadway.
The driver, Dianne Jenner, 44, of East Wakefield, sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Her passenger, Donald Thomas, 58, also of East Wakefield, was ejected during the crash, sustained fatal injures and was pronounced dead at the scene.
After an investigation, police believe Jenner was traveling north when she lost control of her vehicle, left the road and rolled over. Jenner was arrested at the hospital for felony aggravated driving while intoxicated.
That section of Route 125 was closed for approximately 4 hours. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call state police.
