Concord Girl Crowned Miss Winnipesaukee, Wins $10,000 Scholarship
Imagine not having to worry about student loans or paying for books!
Concord’s Brooke Mills is on her way to having her education paid for, thanks to the Miss NH Scholarship Program. On Sunday, Mills took home the “Miss Winnipesaukee” crown along with $10,000 in scholarship money.
Mills, who follows in the footsteps of her mom Stephanie Foisy-Mills, a former Miss New Hampshire 1995, recently graduated from NHTI in Concord and will attend UNH in the fall to study “neuro science and behavior."
According to Mills, who is no stranger to the pageant world, “This will be my third crown in the Miss New Hampshire Program. I've been Miss Weirs Beach, which is the sister title to Winnipesaukee and no longer exists, sadly. I was Miss Merrimack, and will be headed to Miss New Hampshire competition as Miss Winnipesaukee.”
Giving back is a large part of the program and Mills has done a lot to help out!
“I've gone on six trips to Haiti, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic and the Indian Reservations.”
This girl knows nothing but helping out!
In fact, on Wednesday, she is hosting a fundraiser at the Dos Amigo’s Burrito’s in Concord. From 11 a.m.-9 p.m., $1 from every burrito and 50 cents from every taco sold will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network. There also will be a raffle for the cause.
“Part of my job of a title holder and Miss Winnipesauke is to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network and hospitals.”
One thing’s for sure, this determined young lady will succeed at what every she puts her mind to. The confidence was learned in part with the Miss NH Scholarship program, that she highly recommends to all young ladies!
