New England woman arrested after being helped from deflated raft in river
LIMINGTON, Maine — A raft trip didn't end well for an Old Orchard Beach, Maine woman this weekend.
According to a report in the Portland Press Herald, Kimberly Hayford, 37, and a man with her became stranded Saturday evening on a rock in the Saco River in Limington, Maine, after their raft hit a rock and deflated.
When rescuers arrived to assist them in getting safely to shore, a routine check by a York County Sheriff's deputy revealed the woman was wanted for failing to pay a fine associated with a previous charge of operating under the influence.
Hayford's arraignment is scheduled for Monday, June 12.
