Sad About the Super Bowl? Spring Training Is Almost Here to Forget Your Sorrows
OK, we know, you’re not happy about the Patriots Super Bowl loss Sunday. As many fans say, "Wait 'til next year."
However, some are forgetting their sorrows by looking forward to another sport: baseball.
Really, it’s not that far away. Get this, pitchers and catchers first workout in Fort Myers is Feb. 14! Yikes! Happy Valentines Day!
The first full squad workout is shortly after that on Feb. 19.
How about spring training games?
The first ones are at Jet Blue Park against Northeastern and Boston College in a split squad, Thursday, Feb. 22. Then the next day, the Sox take on the Twins in Fort Myers at 1:05 p.m. to start the Grapefruit League season. They play 35 spring games.
The regular season starts in March this year for the Sox that means March 29 in Tampa Bay against the Rays at 4 p.m. The home opener at Fenway is April 5 against Tampa Bay.
This all means warmer weather is on the way.
And if you can't make it to spring training yourself, Binnie Media has you covered.
Ken Cail and Bob Lipman from "Cail and Company" will broadcast live from noon-3 p.m. Feb. 19-23 from Fort Meyers and will feature player interviews, movers and shakers and other media members. The show airs on 107.7 The Pulse and 107.3 WEMJ.
Go Sox! We can’t wait.
