Nashua woman accused of stealing from multiple stores
NASHUA - A woman is facing theft charges after police said she stole from multiple stores.
Denise Doucette, 60, of 7 Coliseum Ave., Apt. 119, Nashua, is charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer consolidation, a class A felony. Doucette was arrested at Kohl's at 5:49 p.m. on Jan. 16.
Police received a call for a shoplifter at Kohl's around 4:36 p.m. A store employee told police Doucette had selected numerous items from within the store and left without paying for them. Doucette was immediately detained just outside by Kohl's staff.
During an investigation, police said they determined that on Jan. 15, Doucette also had stolen items from Charming Charlie, Go Calendars and Macy's at the Pheasant Lane Mall, and the Christmas Tree Shops at 41 Gusabel Ave., Nashua. The combined total value of the stolen items were in excess of $1,500, making it a class A felony.
The charges are punishable by up to 15 years in prison and fines.
Doucette was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned at Nashua police department on Feb. 12.
