Nashua police arrest Massachusetts man on sexual assault charges
NASHUA - Nashua police on Monday arrested a Massachusetts man they said sexually assaulted a juvenile.
Michael Markauskas, 41, of Methuen, Mass., was charged with two counts of felonious sexual assault, Class B felonies, and one count of sexual assault, a Class A misdemeanor.
On Sept. 30, members of the Special Investigations Division were informed of a possible sexual assault that had previously occurred. The complaint alleged that Markauskas had sexually assaulted a juvenile female that was known to him over a period of time in Nashua and Hudson. These reports were investigated by the Nashua Police Department's Special Investigations Division as well as the Hudson Police Department. The investigation revealed that Markauskas was the person responsible for the sexual assault.
There were no injuries reported in these incidents.
Each Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in state prison. A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail.
Markauskas was being held on $10,000 cash or surety at the Hillsborough County jail pending his arraignment.
