Police: Lowell Man Arrested on Narcotics Charges
LOWELL — A Lowell man was arrested Monday after police officers found heroin, cocaine, prescription drugs, and a large amount of cash in his apartment.
Marc Monteiro, 44, received the narcotics charges on Oct. 6 after the Lowell and Chelmsford Police Departments served a search warrant of his apartment in connection with an ongoing drug distribution investigation.
Inside the Lowell apartment, detectives said they found 33 grams of heroin, 16 grams of cocaine, a large amount of Gabapentin pills, and over $38,000 in cash. In addition, police say scales and other items associated with narcotics distribution were found.
Monteiro was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Class E prescription drug, Gabapentin, with Intent to Distribute.
Monteiro is expected to be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Oct. 10.
