Mass. man arrested in Salem using someone else's credit card to pay for hotel room
SALEM - A Massachusetts man was arrested Tuesday and charged with using someone else's credit card to pay for a room he's allegedly been staying in since May 22, police said.
Steven Jackson, 57, of Haverhill, Mass., was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest/detention, credit card fraud, and identity fraud.
Police were contacted Tuesday by the Red Roof Inn after the hotel received a complaint from someone claiming their credit card had been charged for a room rental since May 22. When police went to speak to the occupant, Jackson pushed a police officer and attempted to retreat into the room. Police said Jackson did know the owner of the credit card.
Jackson is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
