Man rescued from ice-cold NH river after sliding down rocks
CAMPTON — Rescue officials were called to Livermore Falls to save a man who fell in ice-cold water.
Crews arrived on scene at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and found a man who was stranded on the edge of the Pemigewassett River after sliding down some rocks. Officials said the river was "raging" after rains the days before.
A rope system was set up and lowered with a rescuer to the man. Both were raised over the cliff safely. The rescue took about a total of 45 minutes.
The man was treated on scene for exposure to the icy water and released after refusing further treatment.
