He's no Cartman! Police Officer Crushes Impromptu Performance of Christmas Carol
PORTLAND, MAINE — It was a routine foot patrol for a Portland police officer, but it the fallout from what he did while standing in the snow last weekend proved to be anything but routine.
Officer Jeremy Turner performed an impromptu rendition of the 19th century classic "O Holy Night" while at work last weekend, an act that has attracted a sleighfull of attention for Turner and the department as Christmas closes in.
Turner studied music performance at the University of Maine, but he had found his calling in police work. He has been an officer for a year.
Afterward, a fellow officer recorded Turner singing the song, which was posted on the department's Facebook page. The video ended with a round of applause from a crowd that gathered to listen. The video has begun to make the rounds on social media.
Portland Police Chief Michael Sauschuck said the act "really shows the human side of law enforcement."
