Maine selectmen advance proposal for ban on retail marijuana shops
YORK, Maine — York selectmen decided to advance a proposal for an outright ban on retail marijuana establishments at a board meeting Monday night.
Maine residents voted to legalize recreational marijuana for adults 21 years and older during the November 2016 election.
Along with advancing the proposal to ban retail stores, selectmen also decided to abandon a proposal for an 180-day moratorium, Seacoastonline reported.
Selectmen heard from the public during the Monday meeting and have decided to hold a second public hearing on the issue.
