Lawrence, Mass. man accused of sexually assaulting child multiple times over 5 years in NH
SALEM — A Lawrence, Mass. man was indicted Thursday for two charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault on a child in Rockingham County.
A grand jury indicted Stephen Bergeron, of Lawrence, after he allegedly sexually assaulted a child multiple times from 2011 to 2016.
Salem police received the allegations and the child was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center. Based on the child's statements, police investigated the case and brought Bergeron to be indicted by the grand jury.
Assistant County Attorney Jennifer Haggar said, "Sexual assaults against children are some of the most troubling investigations that we handle [...] and we are grateful for the Child Advocacy Center and the police departments who devote their time and resources to young victims."
Bergeron is scheduled for arraignment on July 7.
