Happy Birthday Army! 242 years of service celebrated at the Statehouse
CONCORD — Several members of the New Hampshire Army National Guard, retired military and lawmakers gathered at the Executive Council Chambers at the Statehouse to celebrate the 242nd birthday of the Army on Wednesday. As is tradition, the oldest soldier in the room as well as the youngest helped the governor cut the cake.
Gov. Chris Sununu read a proclamation declaring June 14 as the 242 birthday of the U.S. Army in the state of New Hampshire.
The theme of this year's celebration is Over There - A Celebration of the World War I Soldier.
