Guatemalan man to be deported after a traffic stop on I-93
CONCORD — It was announced Friday that Hilmar Chavez-Sanchez, of Guatemala, pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the U.S. after being previously deported.
On February 15, 2016, New Hampshire State Police Trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-93. There were five people in the the vehicle, three of whom refused to provide identification.
Two deportation officers arrived on the scene to assist the trooper who was pursuing Chavez-Sanchez who was on foot. He did not have a valid drivers license and was transported to the Rockingham County Department of Corrections.
The deportation officers were able to determine that Chavez-Sanchez had been deported in both 2009 and 2011. He will be deported again.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alfred Rubega.
