Extensive roadway construction work on Route 106 underway in Belmont, Laconia
BELMONT-LACONIA — Extensive roadway reconstruction work associated with the rehabilitation of Route 106 in Belmont and Laconia started on Monday.
The reconstruction extends just north of the intersection with Dutile Road and Leavitt Road in Belmont to the intersection of South Main Street in Laconia, according to the N.H. Department of Transportation.
The work is expected to take several weeks to complete and will be accomplished using lane shift and one-way alternating traffic when necessary. Delays should be expected between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The whole rehabilitation project, which costs $7.2 million, has a final completion date of Oct. 27, 2017. The project includes pavement rehabilitation on 5 miles of NH Route 106 in Belmont and Laconia, as well as 8/10’s of a mile on the Laconia Bypass, and the rehabilitation of three bridges.
