Ex-Va. governor Gilmore talks Romney, 2016 in NH1 Radio exclusive
CONCORD - Former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore says he's "surprised" at Mitt Romney's decision not to run for President in 2016.
In an interview with NH1 Radio News Director Jeff Wade, Gilmore said of Romney, "It's just a surprise to me that suddenly he would spin around and do a 180 and decide not to run".
Gilmore, who's also a former Chairman of the Republican National Committee and lost a bid for Senate in Virigina in 2008, is believed to be considering a run for the White House as well. When asked if Romney's announcement changed his thinking about a 2016 run, he said he hasn't made any decisions, but remains concerned about the future of the American economy and national security.
Gilmore was in New Hampshire for a 2-day visit, following up a trip to Iowa earlier in the week.
